月額わずか9ユーロ。3月中旬にドイツ連立与党政権が発表した，ドイツ全土有効の定期券発行が大きな話題となっています。
エネルギー節約，特に，自動車による通勤を控え，将来引き続き電車・バスによる通勤を促すための試行プロジェクト。
当初は，「ほんまかいな」と半信半疑でしたが，実行準備は進んでいます。ただ，実業務に携わるドイツ鉄道やローカル鉄道・バス会社は準備に必死のようです。
期間は，6月から8月までの3ヶ月間。1枚の切符の値段は9ユーロで誰でも購入可。有効期限は各月の末日です。すでに定期券を所有している人は差額が払い戻しされます。
利用できる交通機関は，遠距離特急のICE，IC，ECおよびFlix鉄道を除く全ての鉄道，電車，バスとなっているので，自宅を出てバスや電車で中央駅に向かい，たとえばRBを利用してケルンから乗り継ぎながらミュンヘンに行き，ミュンヘン市内をバスやS-Bahnで廻ることもできるわけです。
まさにタダも同然。通勤はもとより，時間がある人たちは，遊び，休暇に利用しない手はありません。ひとつの問題を除いては・・
提供者側も最も心配している問題，それは混雑です。
ゆったりした移動に慣れているドイツ人が，全移動を通じて東京のラッシュアワーのような状況に耐えられるかどうか，また事故などが発生しないか，ドイツ鉄道を主とする管理者側は頭を悩ましていると聞きます。
移動する人たちが増えても，臨時列車を出すことは計画されていないようです。
チケット販売は5月末から。オンライン，現在準備中のアプリ，自動販売機，そして駅構内の販売カウンターでも求められる予定。
約3千万人の購入が予想されているので，夏の休暇が始まると大混雑になることは十分考えられます。
わずかの希望は，ドイツは地域によって休暇時期がずれていること。従って，ドイツ旅行を考えている人は，バカンス中の地域を避けながらの移動を計画してください。
ドイツの隣国の人にとってもドイツ旅行のチャンス。

この試行プロジェクトへの国の予算は25億ユーロ（約3500億円）。しかし，多くの自治体は不足を心配しています。
ガスや原油のエネルギー不足への対策もありますが，環境保全の目標値を達成するために，公共交通機関の利用者を2030年までに現在の2倍に増やすことが目的。
3ヶ月間のタダ乗りが終わったら，また自家用車で無料アウトバーンを高速で走り，排ガスを撒き散らす，もとの木阿弥に戻らないことを願っています。

第一大戦後に独立を果たしたリトアニアの一時的な首都となったカウナス。そのカウナスに居住していた多くのユダヤ人が第二次大戦では強制収容所に運ばれた。
Esch（ルクセンブルク）
人口3万5千人の小さな田舎町，エッシュ。ルクセンブルクの首都，ルクセンブルクはすでに2回も文化都市になっているし，裕福で華やかなイメージがあるので，同じルクセンブルクでも牧歌的な田舎の魅力を見せて欲しい。

Donald Trump and Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, addressed reporters at the White House, where the US president announced his intention to take over the Gaza Strip, move Palestinians to neighbouring countries and redevelop the territory for occupation by “the world’s people”. Here are the main takeaways from their joint press conference on Tuesday evening:
In a shock announcement, Trump said the US will “take over” and “own” the Gaza Strip.The US president said he envisioned a “long-term” US ownership of the territory after all Palestinians were moved elsewhere. He did not explain how and under what authority the US can take over the land of Gaza. “We will own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,” he said. He said the US would “level” destroyed buildings and “create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”
The US president called Gaza a “symbol of death and destruction” and that the only reason people want to go back there is because they have nowhere else to go. The 1.8 million Palestinians living in Gaza should move to neighbouring countries with “humanitarian hearts” and “great wealth”, Trump said. Earlier he had called for Jordan, Egypt and other Arab states to take in Palestinians. He said they could be split up across a number of separate sites. Forced displacement of the population would probably be a violation of international law and would be fiercely opposed not only in the region but also by Washington’s western allies. Some human rights advocates liken the idea to ethnic cleansing.
He went on to say that Gaza could become “the Riviera of the Middle East” where “the world’s people” could live there, echoing the previous sentiments of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who said Gaza had very valuable “waterfront property”.
Trump gave a vague answer when asked a question on whether he supported a two-state solution. Asked if his view that Palestinians should be relocated from Gaza was a sign that he was against the two-state policy that has been the foreign policy approach of the United States for decades, Trump said no. “It doesn’t mean anything about a two-state or one state or any other state. It means that we want to have, we want to give people a chance at life,” he said. “They have never had a chance at life because the Gaza Strip has been a hellhole for people living there. It’s been horrible.”
Trump claimed high-level support among unnamed leaders he had spoken to. “This is not a decision made lightly,” he said, adding that “everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land.” He said the move would bring “great stability to that part of the Middle East”.
Trump did not rule out sending US troops to secure Gaza.“As far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary. If it’s necessary, we’ll do that,” he said. On Trump’s idea of taking over Gaza, Netanyahu said the US president “sees a different future for Gaza”, adding: “I think it’s something that could change history.”
Trump said he would probably announce a position on Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank in the next month. “We haven’t been taking the position on it yet,” he said. Trump added that he planned to visit the Gaza Strip, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Netanyahu described Trump as “the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House”.The Israeli leader said “we have to finish the job in Gaza”, and said “Israel will end the war by winning the war.” Netanyahu praised Trump for “thinking outside the box with fresh ideas” and “showing willingness to puncture conventional thinking”.
The Saudi government, in a statement, stressed its rejection of any attempt to displace Palestinians from their land and said it would not establish relations with Israel without establishment of a Palestinian state. Meanwhile Hamas condemned Trump’s calls for Palestinians in Gaza to leave as “expulsion from their land”. The Palestinian envoy to the United Nations said that world leaders and people should respect Palestinians’ desire to remain in Gaza.

Swedish police say 11 people dead in Örebro campus attack

フランス － France
時代時代で形を変えながらも，人によって対象が異なりながらも，異邦人を絶え間なく刺激し続けてきた国は，フランスをおいて他にないだろう。異邦人が，フランス人は充実した生き方を知っている，粋でセンスの良い文化人とみるか，特異な慣習や自分に固執する自己中心的な国民性と思っているかなど，全く関心がないのもフランス人。
まぁでも，憎らしくも美しいパリは燃えなかった。
それは本当に幸運だった。
オランダ - Nederland
1840年建国の低地王国はヨーロッパで最も地球温暖化の影響を受けている国かもしれない。海岸の防波堤に代わる国土保護策があるのか知る由も無い。
アムステルダムの，寛容を越した，あっけらかんとした人柄に囲まれたグローバルな自由も良いけれど，天気の良い日は自転車王国の楽しみに勝るものはない。
ほとんどの駅にレンタルバイクがあるので，旅行者にもやさしい。
そのような風土から来るのか，有機食品市場が進んでいるのもオランダ。
ベルギー － Belgium
海洋国として植民地を擁していた王国という面もありますが，オランダ，フランス，ドイツに囲まれた立地により，壮絶な戦場の真っ只中もいくつか体験している国。
フランス語文化圏とオランダ語文化圏の対立・融合の複雑さについては，外からはなかなか見えない部分があります。
3-4ヶ国語が流暢でも，それぐらい列車の乗務員やウェイトレスでも，というお国柄。EU本部の拠点が寄与しているわけではないでしょうが，国際的な雰囲気が当たり前の環境です。
アイルランド － Éireann
アイルランドのような田舎に行ってみたい
そう思ってアイルランドに渡る人がどれぐらいいるのか分からないけれども，ギネスビール，アイリッシュダンス，アイリッシュ音楽ファンではなくても，アイルランドを愛する日本人にたびたび出会う。彼女を見つけてドイツに移住してしまった友人のアメリカ人からも，アイリッシュ系を誇る言葉がときおり現れる。
厳しい気候のなかで食料不足に耐え抜いた時代，飢餓を逃れるためにアメリカ大陸に渡った多くのアイルランド人，人々の心に深く染み付いた英国との葛藤，などなど，温暖な気候に生きるヨーロッパ大陸では想像できない部分も多い気がする。

英国 － Great Britain
Brexit（欧州連合離脱）により別に遠くなったわけではありませんが，国境検査無しの越境に慣れた身には遠くなったような気がするのは事実。
まぁでも5000年のストーンヘンジを筆頭に，ブリテン島には長年の様々な歴史がぎっしり詰まっていることに変わりはないでしょう。
ただ，ロンドンはもう，中程度の裕福層でも｢ゆったりフラット｣は望めない天文学的な家賃になったとか。ひょっとすると，狭いアパート生活に慣れた日本人のほうが，逆に違和感なくロンドンで生活できるような気がしないでもありません。

地形状は小さくなりながら，オーストリアが発散してきた最高峰の文化は計り知れない。
モーツァルト，シュトラウス，ワルツ，ウィーン少年合唱団などのクラシック音楽，ハプスブルク家が築いた600年の帝国，山登りたちの数多くの｢世界初｣にまつわるドラマ，ドナウ川河畔やウィーンのカフェなどでベートーベンも大きな発見をしたに違いない。
スペイン － España
スペインの庶民にとって20世紀は，絶え間なく苦難を強いられた百年間ではなかったか，そんな気がする。
にもかかわらず，情熱の国のイメージは偏見ではなく現実であることは実際に住んでみるとよく分かる。
イスラム文化漂うアンダルシアやバルセローナも良いけれど，ピレネー山脈からフランス国境の大西洋岸の自然に魅せられるのはピカソだけではないはずだ。

オランダと並び，日本に数々の文化や技術を伝えてくれたポルトガルは，もっと日本人に愛されてもいいのではないか，という長年の思い。
関係ないだろうけれども，そう考えるとなぜか，日本のちんちん電車がまだ走ってると思ったり，ファドの哀歌も日本的に聞こえたりする。

遺産は英国を含む欧州全土に散らばっているけれども，当然ながら最も色濃く残っているのはイタリア。
しかし，多くの日本人が最も惹かれているのはおそらく食。旅行者でも滞在者でも，欧州で日本人が行くレストランのトップは常にイタリアンなのだから。
ギリシャ － Ελλάδα
世界中の人たちが，人類の知と文明の発祥地として訪れるトップはギリシャ。もう何もない，もう誰もいない，ような気がする。しかし証はある。紺碧の海に星のように散らばる島々と共に，ゆっくりと数々の遺産に触れると，アッと驚く欧米のルーツを感じ取れることは間違いない。
デンマーク － Danmark
北欧と中部ヨーロッパ地帯の架け橋の役割を果たしていたデンマークは，リベラルで進歩的な国民性や立地条件に支えられ，南に位置するドイツ地域よりも，そして貧困にあえぐ植民地のスウェーデン，ノルウェー，アイスランドよりもはるかに豊かだった。
｢アイスランドから来られたのですか？｣と言われたときは，一瞬，冗談だと思ったけれども，よく考えてみたら納得。

アムステルダムの自転車は有名ですが，自転車のインフラやサービス環境はコペンハーゲンの方が上かも知れません。そのコペンハーゲンでレンタル電動アシスト自転車が市と観光局の推進で大きく広まっています。GPSマップ付きバイクで町のステーションのどこからでもレンタルして，どこでも乗り捨て可。まさにEバイクのスマートシティー。高価なセグウェイほどではなくても，北欧なので安価とはいかないけれど。

フィンランド － Suomi
言語学的には日本語と同じ形態に分類されるといわれるフィンランド語。それで，民族まで同種だと言う人もいるけど，ちょっと無理があるのでは？
いずれにしても，観光業界の標語はいつも，森と湖の国フィンランド。
サウナは知らない。でも，真夜中の太陽の下でのハイキングやカヌー川下りはエキゾチックに違いない。
フィンランドの食の世界や地元の料理を知るのには，ヘルシンキ最古の市場に行くのが一番。食材は求めなくても，多種の食堂やカフェもホールの中に隣接されているので，買い物客を観察しながら気楽にフィンランド料理を試食できる。日中は観光客も多いので早早早朝に行きたい。
スウェーデン － Sverige
北部の深い森，南部のビーチや土の豊かな広い農地など，北欧諸国の中で最も多彩な自然に恵まれた進歩的な国，スウェーデンの人々は気品にあふれている感じがする。
ノルウェー － Norge
フィヨルドという言葉が世界に知られるようになって久しい。ヨーロッパ大陸最大の氷河と氷原というだけではなく，大自然を愛する人たちは，ローマではなくノルウェーを見て死ね，という。
ただ，世界で最も値段が高い国なので旅行者にとっては大きな決断と勇気が要る。

アイスランド － Ísland
国家破綻寸前にまで陥ったアイスランド。応援団共々の自然の叫びで世界にアイスランド人の特殊な存在を見せ付けたサッカー欧州選手権。海底資源で世界の強大国としたたかな交渉を行うアイスランド。
ことあるごとに最近ニュースを騒がしているアイスランドの人口は36万弱。
ポーランド － Polska
中央ヨーロッパに君臨する強大な王国だったにもかかわらず，近代の歴史においてロシアやドイツに苦しめられた時代と社会主義国家群に属していた東欧のイメージが，偏見と共に深く染み付いている。
個人的には，アンジェイ・ワイダやロマン・ポランスキーの影響大かも。
ユダヤ人社会の歴史でも，近年のゲットーや悪名高いアウシュヴィッツ強制収容所がまず頭に浮かぶ。日本メディアも和訳に迷ったワレサさんの｢連帯｣以後，西欧の一員として経済発展しているにもかかわらず，変わらぬ偏見が残っているような気がするのはなぜなのだろうか。

朝，学校の先生が｢ソ連軍がチェコスロバキアに戦車で侵入した｣と興奮気味に語っていたのを思い出す。
何の知識もないまま，大きな関心も抱かないまま，東欧に行くならまずチェコスロバキアだね。古都プラハは美しいよ，と奨められて訪れたけれども，鈍感なのか｢美しいプラハ｣は感じなかった。
それよりも，ユダヤ人ゲットーのほうが想像を掻き立てられたので，行ってよかったと思った。
ハンガリー － Magyarország
ハンガリー動乱を経て長い社会主義体制を強いられてきたハンガリーだけれども，東欧諸国の中では，気のせいか人々が明るい感じがする。
ドナウ河が流れ，地図を見るとウィーンから2-30分で行けるのではないかと思えるほどの立地も驚きだ。
